Govan Mbeki crisis

With less than a day before the local government elections, residents of Govan Mbeki say they are not going to vote because apparently the candidate is not the one they picked. The one that is hanged in every corner is a choice of the mayor of Port Elizabeth, Nceba Faku.
Govan Mbeki is a town ship between Mission vale and Kleinskool in port Elizabeth an its resident are angry and they are saying they are not going to vote as the candidate is not the one they want. They say they elected someone else but now they are not seeing the person’s picture hanged in every corner they turn to. So they came to the decision that they are not going to vote in the upcoming elections, saying that they are going to cause chaos, some even say they will close the gates of the voting station and if someone try to go to vote they will beat him/her up and even go to an extent of burning down their houses.
There are two sides in this community, one that is FOR the candidate that was picked by the mayor and the other side is AGAINST. Siyavuya is for the candidate that was elected by the mayor, he said “people don’t want Cynthia because she is colored; they say they want a black councilor, but then even if she is colored she is still a member of the ANC, that’s why I’m not against her”. People of the community feel that for the mayor to change their candidate was rather disrespectful, him thinking that they can’t pick the right candidate.  They say when the allegedly attacked the president of RSA, Jacob Zuma, they wanted to tell him this thing. Nceba Lloyd is against the ‘picked’ candidate, he said” I hate what the mayor did because, who we choose is our choice and for the fact that he did that I’m not going to bother waking up on their 18th, I’ve had enough of politicians thinking that, we can’t think of ourselves”. Many members of the community say they will not be voting. I say let us just wait and see what will happen tomorrow

Why ke nyani??

Why is it that we human beings like to complicate things?? It’s like the more we grow the more we complicate things, remember how a hug used to be the most innocent thing?? Hayi ngoku once you hug someone, there is something going on between the two of you… remember how we used play hide ‘n seek and everything?? Life used to be simple back then… now you can’t let your little sister go out and play hide ‘n seek because their idea of hide ‘n seek is different from ours, their idea of hide ‘n seek is that they are going to get a chance to kiss the boy they like…back in the days we never thought of boys, in fact we ran every time a boy tried to kiss us or tried to make a move on us… what happened to that? Why do we try all we can to fit in, why can’t we just stand out??? So what if you never kissed a boy? So what if you still a virgin?? So what if the call you a dork cause you don’t do things their way?? I’ll rather be a dork than be sorry mna…
Being in a relationship used to be the simplest thing, you knew that you had some one that you can count on…someone who you can talk to about anything…now you can’t even trust the person you are in a relationship with…now all couples do is have sex, sex and more sex… why can’t we just be in a relationship because we like each other and we have things in common , why can’t we just get to know each other  as people before we  know each other in bed??…can’t we just hang out together, without you having a hard-on?? Can’t we hold hands without you wanting to hold more than hands???Now if you can’t sleep someone then it’s goodbye to you… Hayi mna ndi Grand yile generation yethu...

...what Happened???

On my way to school today i saw a COPE(Congress Of the People) billboard with Mosiuoa Lekota, saying everything that people who wanna be voted say... vote for them as they bring change..a thought crosses my mind ukuba what happeded to COPE??,i never bothered to follow politics..but back in 2009,when I attended a COPE rally, they talked, talked and talked about how they gonna change the country, wel i got to admit if i was old enough to vote, i would have voted for them cause everything they said made sense and i was hook'd..hayke,andazi what went wrong ke, cause last time i checked Lekota was fighting with Shilowa, don't know why and how that started but i think they were realy stupid for fighthing, they should be fighthing other parties..COPE to me was like the best party, and it really tried its best to wooo voters but like all politicians they preached what they didn't practise..In one of their Manifestos the talked about peace amongst the people, but is what they currently doing Peace??what happened to that great party i thought cope was??..

NELSON MANDELA BAY HEALTHCARE SYSTEM

The public healthcare system in the Nelson Mandela Bay hasn’t changed. Even after The Herald has reported on how the Bay’s healthcare system is facing an unprecedented collapse, earlier this month. They haven’t shown any improvement.
Dora Nginza Hospital, The waiting room mistreatment

Dora Nginza is one of the hospitals in the Bay that are ignorant. The “Batho Pele” concept which means People First, to them means nothing as they treat people and patients like animals. They don’t ask people nicely to move to another room to wait for their sick loved ones they literally chase them away. A woman, who came with her seriously ill brother, all the way from Alexandria, was told to leave one of the benches in the waiting area to go to stay in another area. She left the room crying saying that what they are doing is unfair because her brother is ill, she just wanted to be there with him. The brother was then given a drip and was told he can only be treated when the drip was all in his body, which took about an hour. Dora Nginza’s waiting room is a nightmare as people wait for hours in the casualty ward. A man who didn’t want to give out his name said” I’ve been here since 9am, now it’s 12o’clock and my name hasn’t been called”. A 22 year old Bianca Jack, mother of Ashley-Ann (2 months old) from Kleinskool  was told to keep quiet when she was crying because her infant was coughing non-stop and throwing up just about everything. She just left and went to cry outside, seeming that was the only thing she could do.  Talking to her she said” I just want my baby to get better, I really don’t know what is wrong, she’s been like this for the past three days, and when I came here yesterday the nurses told me there are no doctors. The nurses and the doctors didn’t want to comment on the matter.
TRANSPORT ISSUES

Another problem in Dora Nginza, is the transportation of patients, they only have one ambulance a day, meaning that they will not be able to go to other sick people. When an ambulance arrived at the casualty ward, with an 86 year old man, who had stroke the night before, they called for an ambulance and they were told to wait until the morning, which they did. They never thought morning meant 1 in the afternoon. The ambulance driver only said “they didn’t give me the right directions”.

Is it realy over????????????

So in 2008 there were the XENOPHOBIA attacks all over South Africa, that carried on for almost the whole year, people who aren't from South Africa were beaten, insulted, called names..some even lost their lives..South Africans said they attacked them because they are taking their jobs, but really they never did..they just opened their business, its really not their faults that South Africans are lazy, and do not wanna go out and look for something to do..instead they just wait for something to come their way..they also claimed that they took their wives and daughters...Okay, maybe they were here illegally, its not like they had a choice,South Africa seemed to be the closest thing to safety..Now it's been almost like 3years after the attacks..and people who aren't from here are still called AMAKWEREKWERE,some even say when Mandela die they gonna kill everyone who is not from here, whats that kengok???..mxm..we fought for freedom, cause we were oppressed..now we doing something worse than what was done to us..we always insult them with XHOSA..even if we don't attack them physically,we are still being xenophobic moss...we still call them amakwerekwere, say hurtfull things to them, and yet we say xenophobic attacks are over, are they really over?????????lets all remember we are all AFRICANS whether we from ZIMBAMBWE,NIGERIA,GHANA or SOUTH AFRICA.. we are all foreigners somewhere..and we are all AFRICANS ke qha..nothing and no one can change that..this is me trying ma best to change the world..(*_*)..XAXA IS AWT

BAY CLINICS

Last week ,I was reading a Community Newspaper called Zithethele, which focuses on the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Bay.. I then came across a story about how the Bay clinics are in need of medicines.it really surprise me, that clinics that are under government be short of medicines, especially ARV’s and TB medication. There clinics are in townships (Kwa-zakhele and Motherwell) for heaven’s sake, and that is where the high rates of HIV/AIDS & TB are. Atleast the clinics are doing something about the situation by sending the patients to Dora Nginza hospital. As for the Government they did not handle  the matter very well, they say in the article, every month they wait for figures from the clinics , which they do not get. Well I think they should put pressure on them to give them the figures and not just “wait”.because people are dying of this negligence. government says the problem is the communication between them and the medicine depot in here in Port Elizabeth. But they promised  that they will be sending medication by the end of March, lets hope it is not one of those empty promise cause people are dying outside. This is it for this week..(*_^)..IM OUT
